Excellent care & service. Our Jack Russell became sick on a Saturday afternoon. We called the vet and were told we could come at once. The receptionist was friendly, we waited just a few minutes and saw the vet. He was precessional and efficient, giving us his clear diagnoses and administering an anti-emetic. The following day he seemed much brighter, back to his normal chippy self (the dog, not the vet!) Thanks for excellent advice and care. There are parking places on the pavement beside the surgery.

Heartbreaking Experience – My Dog’s Life Was Taken Away at Medivet Richmond I am writing this with a broken heart after losing my beloved dog, Mia, and her puppies following a visit to Medivet Richmond. Mia had a healthy labour and was caring for her five pups beautifully. Two days later, she suddenly became weak a common issue in small breeds after giving birth due to low calcium. I rushed her to Medivet Richmond, explained the situation, and shared the advice I’d received from another vet, but the staff dismissed everything I said. They insisted on running their own expensive tests and soon told me she needed surgery. Despite my concerns that she was a new mum still feeding her pups, they pressured me to agree. After the surgery, they admitted they found nothing wrong. Mia came home in a terrible state weak, disoriented, and in obvious pain. Within hours, one puppy had died, and the others were fading fast. I called Medivet several times, begging for help, but was told it was “normal.” By the next morning, Mia could hardly breathe. I rushed her back, only to face another large bill and more uncertainty. Not long after, my beautiful girl lost her life. Her life was taken away from her. She just needed simple, basic help — not unnecessary procedures, pain, and suffering. I truly believe that with proper care and compassion, Mia could still be here today with her babies. To make things even more painful, just a couple of days later I received an email from Medivet with cremation prices and funeral services. It was heartbreaking — instead of showing care or empathy, it felt like they were focused on business, not on saving lives. Please, be cautious. Ask questions. Don’t let anyone pressure you into decisions you don’t understand. I never imagined trusting a veterinary clinic could end with such heartbreak. Mia didn’t deserve this!

Always great service at Richmond Medivet. The reception staff are always very helpful & quick to find me an appointment in an emergency. The vets are always thorough with my Miniature Dachshund Frank. He was very poorly this time & they gave him the medication needed & got him back to his normal self in a few days. They always put me & Frank at ease. I recommend this veterinarian surgery to everyone.

I know for a fact I’ve been an extremely anxious pet parent over the last 3 months given how much Zeus has struggled after 5 years as a stray, but after multiple visits and complex life threatening issues, he’s finally on the mend and I cannot thank the Richmond team enough for letting me harass them out of hours for guidance and appts. Have fully switched from my existing practice that’s a lot closer to home - would prefer to travel the 20 mins and struggle with parking just because of how good the team are - and your nurses/receptionists are just so lovely!

I’ve been bringing my pets to Medivet for over 30 years and have always received excellent care. The service is professional, compassionate, and consistently delivered with a smile. They always do their best to accommodate urgent appointments, which is greatly appreciated. The reception team are lovely, and every vet I’ve seen has been outstanding.
