Pennine Veterinary referrals were extremely helpful when our dog unfortunately broke her leg, the ladies on reception were super friendly and made the insurance claim easy. The vet who completed the surgery was very professional and reassuring. Thank you for making such a stressful situation a little easier and taking such good care of Bonnie, she’s made a full recovery 🐾

Wow is all I can say. After being completely stuck with what to do after our dog tore her cruciate and getting lots of different opinions and options, Alasdair and his team made us feel so at ease, gave us relevant and easy to follow information and left us clear on what to do next. We felt so supported and understood, and very welcome by the girls on the desk. They squeezed her in at short notice for her consultation and did her surgery on the same day, home by 5pm that evening and is healing nicely. They also managed the insurance claim which was paid to me in two days, and sent us a check in email the next day to see how she is getting on. 10/10 service and I am so grateful for their support of Bella. I know the cost of surgery and the overall experience is overwhelming, but you definitely get the service you pay for!!!

Where do I even begin with this absolute star of a vetinary practice! Our 11 year old staffy was rushed into Pennine yesterday morning due to lameness in her legs. Within hours she recieved a full blood test, CT scan, MRI and surgery! Our vet Alasdair called us after each test with an update and straight after surgery. She had to be kept in overnight to recover from her anesthetic and one of the beautifully thoughtful nurses, Phillipa surprised me with a photo of our little Bella all tucked up in her bed and looking as happy as she could be. We rescued Bella and due to her traumatic start in life she is extremely nervous when without us but the team gave her all the cuddles she needed and more! Something that has never happened at another vet before and what I cant praise enough was Alasdair's patience with explaining exactly what he did during the surgery and why he did it. He kindly showed us her CT scan and MRI results in person and the passion he has for his work is truly inspiring. Last but by no means least, all the ladies on reception were absolutely incredible. They offered me a tissue and comfort when we had to leave Bella for surgery and when we collected her this morning they all came to say hello and update on how she had been. The practice itself is absolutely stunning and kept impeccably clean. This is a practice and a team that really do care and I would trust them with Bella's life.

As an Advanced Veterinary Practitioner in the equine field, I know the importance of specialist care—and when our dog Nico needed cruciate surgery, I wanted him in the best possible hands. That’s why I chose Pennines Referrals. I’ve seen Alasdair work before and have always been impressed by his exceptionally high standards. It’s clear he’s carried that same excellence into building a top-tier referral practice. The facilities, team, and overall service at Pennines are genuinely outstanding from a veterinary perspective. Nico underwent a TPLO surgery and, by following the team’s guidance closely, made a full recovery within just 8 weeks. The professionalism, communication, and clinical expertise throughout the whole process were faultless. Thank you to Alasdair and the team—you’ve created something really special, and it’s a huge asset for vets and pet owners alike.

I honestly cannot express how amazing this place is! From Sophie on reception to the nurses and Alasdair who carried out the surgery on our 12 year old boxer. They are all so professional yet make you feel so at ease and clearly have a passion for making the whole process less stressful and also more affordable. I honestly thought our time with our beloved boxer, bongo, had come to an end but I put my faith in the team at pennine and 4 weeks post emergency spinal surgery she is up and walking around. I would absolutely 100% recommend them!
