Medivet St John’s Wood is part of the Medivet group rather than an independent practice. The clinic advertises 15‑minute consultations, an in‑house laboratory, and a broad set of diagnostic and surgical options (including ultrasound, ECG, endoscopy, and keyhole surgery), alongside routine care like vaccinations, parasite control, neutering and microchipping. It also offers animal health certificates for pet travel and home visits.
From the latest reviews available to us, experiences are mixed: some owners describe clear communication, calm handling of anxious cats, and prompt help with travel documentation; others report poor/late follow-up on test results and advice they felt was incomplete. One reviewer also describes being refused an appointment after arriving 6 minutes late despite calling ahead.
Based on the clinic website summary and reviews, services mentioned include
Out-of-hours care: provided by Medivet 24 Hour Kensington (as stated on the website), with a £130 consultation fee and no charge for phone assessment.
4.5 stars from 94 reviews. The comments we have include both long-term clients praising routine care and travel paperwork support, and others reporting communication and scheduling problems. “”

ZERO STARS I normally wouldn't write such harsh reviews but this is my experience after 4 years with this practice. They display poor communication, poor /incomplete advice - and the vet that saw my cat (Amber) was astoundingly unhelpful. I would actively warn against this practice. Case in point: As my cat turned 9, the vet recommended changing her food but didn't mention that it needed to be done slowly and over time. As a first time cat parent, I followed her advice but decided to be cautious and changed just the dry food - this triggered severe gastric issues. When I frantically consulted the practice to try and get a little more context and understand next steps, I was constantly told to just "bring her in". I was not averse to that, but have a cat with severe anxiety and who hates the vet - i wanted to understand what we were looking for and whether there were steps i could take before bringing her in (and likely triggering further stress). No information was forthcoming. Even after booking them, and paying for multiple tests, I was not notified on the results and next steps until I emailed and called to ask. Four months on, as a result of this poor advice and incompetence, my cat is still vomiting and in pain. In desperation, I moved to the Medivet Kensington practice and the difference is like night and day. The practice keeps me updated on the recommended tests, the vets call me up for a quick update on treatment plans and next steps (without charging me for every 5 min call) and overall, help me feel reassured as to my cats progress. Over the last 3 months, they've suggested small but meaningul steps - including ones ji could try at home, in order to minimize in person visits that stress the cat. She is a long way from recovery, but I feel more reassured. The result of careless and incomplete advice and subsequent pior communications has been months of pain and stress. This issue is one of several I've had over the years- when I've expressed my dissatisfaction about the poor communication, I'm told that I need to book a consultation and I'm being demanding! I highly do not recommend this practice.

Thank you Medivet St John’s Wood. The perfect neighborhood vet for my best friend, Jacob.

We have visited Medivet St John’s Wood a number of times now for regular check-ups, vaccinations and for occasional stress issues for our cat. We signed up initially as it is very close to where we live. However, we stayed for 2 years plus now and not swapped to other clinics which popped up in the area for the following reasons: The healthcare plan includes worming and flea tablets, annual vaccinations and two checkups per year, as well as good discounts for various services and products. What has really impressed us recently is how promptly the team helped us get travel documentations sorted out for our cat as we needed to be abroad for a longer time and we had to travel with him. The front desk staff are always professional and helpful (thank you, Helena) and our vet always handles Lando in a way that keeps him calm during appointments (thank you, Amber). The occasional freebies (Medivet branded ball and treats at the end of appointments for Lando) are a nice plus. The only aspect which needs to be improved in my opinion is the electronic system which alerts us about missed appointments, as it sometimes sends automatic reminders even when we attended or when the appointment was cancelled (either by us or the clinic). All in all, we are very happy with the service and we appreciate the good work veterinary teams do to keep our pets healthy 😊

Called and let them know I would be late and they still refused to see me even though I was literally just 6 mins late to the appointment. I understand being busy but you don’t seem to prioritize the health of the animals and I do now see you being open much longer due to this
