Vets4Pets - Blackheath

I registered my dog, Theo, with this practice when I first got him, so he has been in their care for the past seven years. Over all these years, I have always been very happy with the care and service we have received. Unfortunately, over the last few months we have had to visit the practice more often than I would have liked, for several different reasons, and today Theo had to undergo surgery. I felt it was finally time to leave a review and express just how grateful I am to have found such an amazing veterinary team. Everyone, from the receptionists to the nurses and vets, has always been incredibly kind, helpful and compassionate. They are always there to answer questions, offer reassurance and, most importantly, take such wonderful care of Theo. I have always found the whole team to be professional, knowledgeable and genuinely caring, and that means so much when you are worried about your pet. I sincerely hope we won’t need to be back again anytime soon! But knowing that Theo is in such capable and caring hands whenever he does need help gives me so much peace of mind. A huge thank you to the entire team for everything you have done, and continue to do, for Theo. I couldn’t recommend this practice enough.

Friendly and helpful staff. The vet was very helpful and informative about my dog.

I called up enquiring necessary information regarding my pet, Paula answered the phone and was very condescending, rude and dismissive! She clearly didn’t want to be on the phone. Made me feel stupid for asking valid questions as a concerned pet owner and potential customer seeking simple advice. It doesn’t take much to speak to a person with basic respect over the phone.

I just want to say what an excellent experience I’ve had with Blackheath vets for pets. My guinea pig had a stone in his bladder and medivet were refusing an emergency appointment to even check him last week. I contacted V4P and they have been amazing every step of the way. They seemed to really care about my boy, and cared for him really well. They were also genuinely lovely people and everyone (vet nurse, receptionists and vets) were really kind and supportive. Made me feel at ease. Thank you to the lovely receptionist too how answered my very anxious call and kept me calm whilst he was in surgery. Exotic animal vets are really hard to come by in London, but I really would recommend these! Thank you so much from me and Cam!

Mila was really unwell, and the team at Vets4Pets Blackheath were amazing. Everyone is so friendly, caring and professional,they truly go above and beyond. The prices are fair and transparent, and the level of care is honestly the best I’ve experienced. So grateful for everything they’ve done for Mila. Highly recommend! 💛🐾

Extremely poor organisation and no consideration for animal welfare. I have had a consistently bad experience with this practice and would not recommend it, especially for cats or animals with chronic conditions. My cat is diabetic, and on multiple occasions I have had issues with the supply of insulin and syringes due to the practice’s complete lack of organisation. When an animal depends on daily insulin, this is not a minor inconvenience, it is dangerous. The practice also shows very little understanding of how to handle stressed cats. There is no attempt to adapt procedures or minimise stress, despite this being basic and well-known in feline care. The final straw was a recent blood test appointment. I was instructed to administer a sedative/relaxing medication to my cat the night before the test. On the morning of the appointment, after the medication had already been given, I was called and told that the laboratory would not be collecting samples for two days due to the holiday period. This information should have been communicated when I called to request the medication, when I booked the appointment, or at the very least before I was asked to drug my cat for no reason. I had also clearly informed them that I would be travelling for two weeks. The proposed “solution” was to proceed anyway, send the blood later, and if the sample was no longer valid, repeat the test, at my expense. In other words, I was expected to pay twice because of their failure to plan. This practice feels extremely money-oriented and poorly managed, with little regard for the stress, safety, or wellbeing of the animals in their care. I am deeply concerned for pets whose owners may not realise they deserve better.

I've had the best experience at Vets4Pets Blackheath, they've looked after my puppy so well from an emergency appointment to his neutering, vaccinations and general checkups. They are very friendly and he is always scrambling to get up the stairs to see the team.

Always the most lovely and helpful. Also very knowledgeable with my little bunnies, which I have found hard to come by in London. Thank you!
